Day 11. Jaen – GranadaToday we have a really mountainous ride, crossing the Cazorla national Park, one of the most important parks in Andalucia. The roads are any bikers dream, with incredible views of the vegetation and lakes, and twisty and technical roads. After crossing the park we will stop for lunch in the Tiscar pass, another beautiful place with a monastery on the top of the mountain. After lunch we visit a cave formed by the water that comes from the mountains nearby; a really good picture stop. From there we head to Granada passing Guadix, a typical inland village that is notable because the people used to live in caves. These caves are now restored and are for the exclusive use of the people of Guadix. The area has the feeling of being in the desert of Arizona in the USA.
In the evening we walk down to the town which is just 800 meters walk down the hill (a cobbled path - high heels may struggle!) and submerge in Granada's nightlife and enjoy the best tapas you can get in the whole town. Don’t worry, on the way back we can choose between taxi, bus and, for those who haven’t had enough and love to breathe the warm summer nights air, a brave walk back up the hill. At the end of the day everybody is glad to fall into bed.
Day 12. Granada Day off Today if you wake up early and find tickets you can visit the amazing Alhambra palace. No words here can do it justice.
If you are not up for this, you have the option of taking a ride up into the Sierra Nevada, or free time to relax.

We still can see the Sierra Nevada’s peaks with patches of snow on our left side as we depart from Granada. We drive past lake Los Bermejales, Alhama de Granada, lake Viñuela and stop for lunch in Antequera. We climb over the small hills behind Antequera and stop at the train station of El Chorro Gorge, very famous as a top rock climbing destination in Andalucia. The river Guadalhorce has cut rocky labyrinths with 300m vertical cliffs in the soft limestone. The main defile is the extremely narrow cut crossed by the one-time trail called El Camino del Rey. King Alfonso XIII is said to have walked it to dedicate a railroad tunnel in the 1920´s. Now it’s officially closed. From there we take very enjoyable biking road passing Coin and Marbella to arrive at our base where we drop the bikes, drive you to the hotel, give you time to relax and shower before we meet again for a good-bye dinner.
You won’t believe that the tour is already over! We hope you have gained some new friends and lots of experiences.
