Tour Description

The beauty of  Southern Spain.

Andalucía is without doubt one of the best destination for a motorcycle tour in Europe. It has it all – twisting mountain roads and picturesque white villages.  Great cities full of history, delicious food plus wonderful weather all year round. The roads are in great condition and practically deserted. There are around 330 sunny days a year in Andalucía. People are friendly and helpful. Food is a subject of it´s own. The variety is endless. Also there is nothing to add about Spanish wine, that you don´t know already. Andalucía is just an absolute biker´s heaven. The famous biking road to Ronda. Historical center of Seville. The Alhambra Palace at Granada. The highest mountain road in Europe up to Sierra Nevada. These are only few of the highlights of this tour.

Day 1. Arrival day

We collect you at the airport and take you to the hotel, where you can relax by the pool until our evening briefing with introduction to other tour participants, we finish the paperwork, allocate bikes and go for dinner together to discuss the details of the days to come.

Day 2. Malaga – Puerto de Santa Maria

We ride down to the coast, via San Pedro, onto a famous biking road to Ronda, 47 kms of great riding,to one of the most famous white villages of Andalucía. Then over twisting mountain roads to Zahara de la Sierra. We drive through the Los Alcornocales National Park which contains the largest stands of Mediterranean forest of cork oaks in Europe. We pass Medina Sidonia and turn of to the coast to stop by the Trafalgar Lighthouse, the witness of one of the biggest sea battles in history. We then drive along the coast direction to our final destination, Puerto de Santa María. Our hotel used to be an old vine bodega in the old times….

Day 3. Puerto de Santa María – Sevilla

We will leave Puerto de Santa María and first thing visit the Moto GP circuit in Jerez de la Frontera. There we continue through the country side on deserted twisty roads to our destination Seville, capital of Andalucia so famous for its architecture and History. After a swim in the pool, we will explore the town center and end the day with a dinner .

Day 4. Sevilla – Granada

Over A367 national road passing Utrera, Algodonales, Olvera and Antequera, we turn off on the A356 to lake La Viñuela where we stop for lunch. Then we continue to Alhama de Granada, lake Los Bermejales, we stop for few pictures and from there its just an easy trip up to Granada. In the evening we walk down to the town which is just 800 meters walk down the hill (not high heel friendly!) and submerge in the Granada´s nightlife and enjoy the best tapas you can get in the whole region. Don’t worry, on the way back we have the choice between taxi, bus and, for those who haven´t had enough and love to breathe the warm summer nights air, a brave walk back up the hill. At the end of the day everybody is glad to fall in the bed.

Day 5. Granada – Granada

Today we have the option to give a rest to your bike, visit Alhambra or explore Granada , or to make a fantastic excursion around one of the most spectacular national parks of Andalucia the Alpujarras Mountains, visiting Sierra Nevada, the highest road in Europe, then head to the famous village of Lajaron with it natural underground water reserves and spas, with one of the more twisty road of the region with an altitude of more than 2.000 meters during our excursion, we will try typical Alpujarreño gastronomy so popular for the cured ham of Trevelez, still made the traditional way like hundred years ago, after lunch we take the highway back to Granada but the trip is not over yet, the highest road in Europe awaits us, all the way up the Sierra Nevada ski center. Awesome ride! Certainly a day to remember, a real biking experience with very technical roads.

Day 6. Granada – Malaga

We still can see Sierra Nevada’s peaks with patches of snow on our left side as we depart from Granada on the way to Motril. We turn of on the coast road and following the twisty road we arrive to La Herradura “The Horseshoe” named after the shape of the bay, where we stop for coffee and maybe dip a toe in the Med. We turn of again to the mountains, passing Velez-Malaga, lake Viñuela again and stop for lunch in Antequera. We climb over the small hills behind Antequera and stop at the train station of El Chorro Gorge, very famous as a top rock climbing destination in Andalucia. The river Guadalhorce has cut rocky labyrinths with 300m vertical cliffs in the soft limestone.  . From there we take very enjoyable biking road passing Coin to arrive at the hotel. We give you enough time for a shower and then we meet again around 20.00 for a good-bye dinner.

You won´t believe that the tour is already over! We hope you have gained some new friends and lot of experience.

    MAURICE

In case you don’t know it touring in Spain is about as good as it gets. The roads are excellent with not too much traffic, the food and wine are sublime and the people are friendly.

The roads on this trip are just incredible, both for the scenery and for the riding. When w e did it we combined it with a couple of days at the beach.

I’ve done a fair bit of motorcycle touring over the years in several different countries but this company is the only one I have ever done repeat tours with. For whatever reason every tour I’ve been on with them has always had a great bunch of other riders on it, which makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable. David and Hana are so laid back and relaxed while still being totally in control of the trip it makes it very easy to just sit back and enjoy it all. There is never any pressure on you, they take care to make sure that never happens.

    I’ll certainly go again.
