Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival Day to Malaga

Parador de golf

The hotel on the first night of the tour is the Parador de Golf , about  a 5 minute taxi drive from the airport . We will arrange a pre tour meeting around 6.pm ,where we have chat about the tour and organise the bike allocation . We will eat in the hotel this evening .

Day 2. Malaga – Tarifa

Tarifa

We start our journey heading north on the mountain  roads  to Ronda .  After coffee we head to Tarifa through the National reserve of Cortes de la Frontera and then along the Mediterranean coast . Tarifa might be small, but it has surprisingly lot to offer! The super beautiful beaches will absolutely blow your mind. The old town is full of cozy shops and cafés . Tarifa has the most chilled out atmosphere ever. Our hotel for the evening is the Hotel La Residencia which overlooks the port , and the coast of  Morocco in the distance .

Day 3.Tarifa – Mazagon

parador de Mazagon  Parador de Mazagon

This morning we will start north along the coast before turning into the hills to the magnificent town of Arcos de la Frontera for a coffee . Continuing north we will catch the ferry over the Guadalquivir river and into the national park of Donana. Our hotel this evening is the Parador of Mazagon overlooking The Atlantic ocean .

Day 4. Mazagon – Sarges

Memmo Baleria

Early today we cross the border into Portugal and we turn  into the mountains for some twisty roads . After lunch in the mountains , we will drop back down to the coast  to our destination ,Sagres. It’s a small town with many cute bars and restaurants . It’s a very low-key destination that attracts true ocean and nature lovers. The nature here is wild with huge cliffs and a turbulent ocean. You will find some amazing views on this most south western point of Europe. Our hotel fore the night is the boutique Hotel Memmo Baleria.

Day 5. Sarges – Cascais

The Albatroz Hotel

We start the day with some exciting riding  along  the Atlantic coast towards Lisbon , where we cross the famous 4th of July bridge high over the Tagus river . Once across the bridge , we follow the coast road  to the beautiful Cascais. Cascais is one of the most popular seaside towns in the world.   It offers a variety of historic monuments, grand 19th-century villas and informative museums. At the heart of Cascais is the pretty historic centre, with its traditional Portuguese character and numerous restaurants and shops. Our hotel this evening is the Albatroz.

Day 6. Cascais – Elvas

Elvas castle

After breakfast overlooking  the Atlantic Ocean , we will take the coast road to Sintra and onto Torres Vedras .  We then  head inland towards tonights destination Elvas. Elvas is truly one of Portugals´s hidden gems . This highly fortified town is situated on the border region with Spain, and has historically regarded as the strategic connections between Spain and Portugal. Centuries of border disputes and the constant thread of invasion from Spain, resulted in Elvas becoming one of the most fortified towns in Portugal. Our hotel this evening is the Vila Gale Collection Elvas.

Day 7. Elvas – Carmona

 Parador de carmona

This morning we will follow the  border towards the natural park of Aracena. We cross the “Via de la Plata”  and reach on of my favourite motorcycle roads in Southern Spain. Hidden between the cork and acorn trees, it twists and turns across rolling hills with little ponds full of happy “Iberian” piggies.  After an obligatory coffee stop we head  to the hilltop white town Carmona and it´s impressive Parador with spectacular views.

Day 8. Carmona  – Malaga

Leaving Carmona behind we head through the olive groves to Moron de la Frontera. From there we continue into the sierras for a day of twisty roads, fantastic views and perhaps a lunch along the way. After 2.000 more bends we will arrive in the beachfront Parador. Time to relax before before our farewell dinner.

2 reviews for The Atlantic Coast – Iberian Riviera

  1. Jim Smith

This was my fourth tour with Motoadventours and as always, everything was extremely well organized and beyond my expectations. Great blend of fantastic oceanside, mountain, and country roads surrounded by beautiful scenery. Five star hotels and delicious meals every day. Bikes are immaculate and ran like new. The smaller group size also made for some good comradery and an excellent riding pace. Hana and David are people that truly enjoy what they do and know how to make your tour become a trip you will never forget – I guess that’s why I am already planning…….

  2. Kelly Walsh (verified owner)

I cannot say enough about this incredible tour. The sights, the fantastic twisty roads, the impeccable accommodations and food are absolutely second to none. Most importantly though, David and Hana are amazing hosts. They provide everything you could possibly need and more, and instantly create a welcoming, family-like atmosphere that feels less like a tour and more like an incredible week touring the countryside with close friends and family. I cannot wait to return for my next adventure!
